One of the things I enjoy most about social networking are the friendships you build.  Over the last several months I’ve been fortunate to connect with many great people who have made a significant impact in my life.  People who have never participated in social networking often think it’s difficult to build deep and lasting relationships with these networks.  The irony the relationships in social media are in fact strong and powerful.

One of my favorite tweets is listed at the top of this post.  Everyday I am always grateful to have connected with so many great people.  This blog post is dedicated to a few special friends who have helped get the most out of my social networking experience.  They’ve been kind to introduce me to others and help expand my influence.   If you’re on twitter, I highly recommend you follow, as they’re truly dedicated to helping others and spreading good energy.

@JJVirgin – “Live well. Love life.”  I was introduced to JJ by my friend Lydia, aka @SerendipityJane.  JJ was a featured speaker on Lydia’s radio show to share her knowledge regarding diet and fitness.  JJ has been featured on TV, Radio and has worked with a number of Hollywood celebrities. @thelightchaser1 aka Mike Stone – Mike is a former history and political science teacher.  He currently owns a business call Heirloom DVD (click here for the website) which helps people organize old pictures and videos by putting them on DVDs.  Mike also spends a great deal of his time raising money and awareness for various issues facing today’s senior citizens.  He is a great person and a great friend.

@Kellyhunts – Always spreading love and positive energy.  That’s the best way to describe Kelly.  We connected on twitter a few months ago and quickly became good friends.  Kelly introduced me to www.blip.fm.  This is a great website to share music and connect with others.  Kelly is an avid reader who has recommended a number of good books to me.   She’s also a photographer, writer and surfer (not necessarily in that order).  Kelly’s mission to help others and she’s always keeping it real.

@KatieSchwartz – I love her comedic wit and spirit.  Katie has a great blog dedicated to making others laugh.  In addition to her writing, she dedicates a lot of her time helping people deal with thyroid disease @dearthyroid.  I always admire people who dedicate themselves to helping ease the pain of others.  If you’re looking for a good laugh, please click here to visit her blog.  If you would like to learn more about her charitable organization, Dear Thyroid, please click here.
